Be-Free Produces a new short movie about “Parenting”

Be-Free produced a short movie about “Parenting” that helps parents to see new aspect of “Parenting”, more than just duties, hardship, and responsibility.

Be-Free has produced earlier a group of short movies that can be watched along with this movie on Be-Free Program channel on YouTube.com : www.youtube.com/user/befreeprogram

This work is part of Be-Free utilization of new technologies and multi-media in raising awareness about the protection of children and teens from abuse.

Be-Free publishes a “Smart Usage of Smart Devices” booklet

May 2013

Be-Free Program published a booklet for children ages 12-17 years old titled “Smart Usage of Smart Devices”, about using social networking applications of smart phones and tablets, in a way that helps them benefit from the advantages and protects them from its dangers.

The booklet discusses online privacy and personal information security, and how to identify and deal with rumors and inaccurate news.

Cooperation between Be-Free Program and Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland

March 2013

Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) and Be-Free Program of Bahrain Women Association - for Human Development  have agreed to cooperate in two main areas. The first involves a group of RCSI students volunteering in Be-Free Program, where they get trained on the main concepts of respecting others and learning from differences, some concepts of working with children, and techniques of storytelling. After the training the students will present the story “We learn and have fun with differences” that conveys the message of respecting others and learning from differences to children in some schools.

Be-Free Conducts A Workshop for Parents

June 2013

Be-Free Program conducted a workshop for parents about the “The role of parents in protecting their children from abuse”. This workshop aims at spreading awareness about the aspects that helps in protecting children and teens from abuse. Moreover it helps parents in adopting parenting skills that raise children’s self-esteem, and build strong relationship with their children, which is an essential element in the protection of children from abuse.

A New Season of Training Workshops

November 2013

Be-Free started a new season of training workshops for children, in which each month will focus on one concept, and cover it from different angles. This season aims at building a positive personality for children, raising their self-esteem, helping them take responsibility at their homes and schools, and communicate in a better way with their family and community.

The season started last October with a series of workshops “I am a Leader Child” that covers the concept of leadership, which is defined as the positive change, however small, that every person can make in the community. The workshops covered some of the leadership skills such as self-esteem, pro-activity, and other skills.
