What do children need to be protected over the internet?

Be-Free conducted a series of workshops titled "I am a Strong, Smart, and Safe Child...over the Internet" about the essential protection skills for children in grades 1 to 3 and 4 to 6. In these workshops, real cases has been discussed of issues occurred to the children or their friends over the internet, and the optimum action in such situations.

"Protect Children Now" Movement launches a law competition for students in Law Colleges in the Gulf Countries to develop a model law to protect children from abuse. Dr. Mohammed Al-Roken - lawyer and associate professor U.A.E. University, and a founder of the movement, states that one of the goals of this competition is to encourage students to study the area of child laws

Be-Free Conducts Essential Protection Skills Workshops in Sharjah

Be-Free participated in Al-Sharjah third reading festival, that was conducted between 14th - 21st February 2010, with mini-workshops on essential protection skills. The workshops were conducted in Arabic and English according to the language of the participating children. Be-Free has also distributed to children a booklet that summarizes the essential protection skills in a simple way.

Be-Free Conducts a Report on Child Rights in Bahrain

Be-Free conducted the Arab Council for Childhood and Development Report on Child Rights in Bahrain. The report has two parts, the first about children's' knowledge about Child Rights Convention (CRC), and the second is about the NGOs and their knowledge and consideration of the the CRC articles in their work.

As parents, we aspire to give our children all they need to be successful and  happy in life, but sometimes we act in ways that do not help in achieving this.

In the occasion of Family day, it is a good time to pause and  revise, therefore Be-Free has produced a series of movies with the title "Mom, Dad...I deserve love... lets share it together", each movie last for no more than one minute.

More than 1850 children were trained during Bahrain Books Exhibition

Be-Free participated in Bahrain Books Exhibition during the period 17 to 27 March, by conducting mini-workshops on essential protection skills titled "I am A Strong, Smart, and Safe Child", along with protection skills over  the internet, and basic life skills. The basic life skills workshops' titles varied every day.

Child Trafficking ...New Forms

Be-Free participated in Doha Forum to combat human trafficking, during the period 22-23 March 2010. Be-Free Paper was titled "Child Trafficking...between reality and denial".

This paper discussed the new forms of child trafficking and the factors that influence this phenomena, such as Technology, Media, deterioration of ethics and human values, and the absence of laws.

New Higher Education Studies to Be-Free

Manager of Be-Free Rana Alsairafi has recently received her PhD in "Father-Adolescent Relationship and its effect on adolescents subject to different types of abuse - in the Kingdom of Bahrain". This study has helped in understanding the perspectives of adolescents for their relationship with their father, and the aspects that affect this relationship. The study was conducted on teens males and females, aged (12-17) years old.

"Sharing is an interesting solution"

"Sharing" is a beautiful concept that helps children enjoy playing and sharing with other children, and it also helps them in resolving  issues when playing with their peers. During the workshops that Be-Free has conducted for children ages 4-6 years old, and 7-9 years old, children were introduced to different types of sharing

During the series of workshops titled "I express myself" that was conducted in May, children learned how to express themselves and their feelings. One of the workshops was "I control my anger", in which children learned how to express their anger in a better way, and to control it.
