The establishment of joint ties with universities and colleges inside and outside Bahrain:
The Be-Free program established collaborating ties with universities and colleges inside and outside Bahrain in an effort to raise awareness on the topic of child abuse. The students were encouraged to adopt child protection in their research papers. Towards that end; the Be-Free program sponsored a number of seminars, training, workshops and joint activities.
The Bahrain e-Content Award:
The "Be Free" program won the Bahrain e-Content Award, which was organized by the Bahrain Internet Society and held under the auspices of the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
The judges who awarded the program “First Prize” in the category of e-content praised the uniqueness of the website, the use of both Arabic and English, the straightforward way in which the content is written, the vivid colors and the simple yet empowering theme of the website that was described to be approachable to both children and their caregivers.
The launch of a book in Braille:
The Be-Free program launched its first book in Braille for children and youth with visual impairments on protection skills.
The conduct of mini training workshops for children:
The development of mini training workshops with the approximate duration of 15 minutes each to be conducted in public places with the intent of reaching out to the largest possible number of children . The program conducts 15 minutes workshops to communicate concepts of protection, basic life skills, etc. The children are then given the opportunity to express what they have learned in various ways, such as formation of clay, painting and handicrafts in a blend of fun and learning. The goal of such workshops is to convey the mentioned concepts to a broader spectrum of children by bringing the workshops to places of their gather, such as shopping malls, health centers, book fairs, festivals, and others.
The mini workshops continue to be well received by both children and their caregivers. To date thousands of mini-workshops have been conducted in Bahrain and in other countries.
